ABOUT THE GUESTS

Eva

Eva Cassis always knew she wanted to be a fashion designer. When she was a little girl she taught herself to draw and sew dolls clothes on her toy sewing machine. It was only natural that she would go on to study fashion design.

And while Eva worked in luxury fashion - for labels such as Prada and Collette Dinnigan - she never used her qualifications. But those experiences gave her the grounding in exquisite craftsmanship and incredible construction details that have become the cornerstone of her own label.

It was in 2011, after experiencing the frustration of trying to find clothes to flatter her changing body shape, that Eva decided to start her own label. After a year of planning, she launched with a vision to create beautifully flattering designs, expertly handmade at accessible prices. In 2012, Eva Cassis launched with a simple desire to create ethical, considered and timeless garments and accessories. Almost a decade later and we continue to provide our customers with kinder, more sustainable fashion options with enduring appeal.

She has grown the business from the ground up, all while raising her two young sons.

The success of the label is testament to Eva’s hard work and unwavering dedication to her slow and humble philosophy.

Laetitia Andrac

Hey, Eva. Thank you. So much for being part of the seven figure flips conversation. Thanks for having me. I am so excited for everyone to listen to your expertise as a long term business owner in your field around how do you define success?

Eva Cassis

Um, I think my version of success was always a little bit different going into my business. It was never about it was never about replacing a salary or anything like that. I always knew that I wanted time. I always worked in an industry that didn't really value time of the people that worked there and at a moment's notice, you would be finishing at five o'clock and then 10 o'clock and then sometimes at midnight, and I knew that one of my future goals was to become a mother and I always knew this wasn't the way I wanted to parent. I never wanted to be an absent parent. I always envisioned walking my kids to school and picking them up. And just being there for them. And I knew that my career at the time was not really going to align with that in the future.

Laetitia Andrac

Thank you. Thank you for sharing that Eva. what a beautiful business you created and life you are living with it. So thank you so much for sharing your voice with that. So now the other questions that I love to ask everyone who is part of this conversation is what does it mean Seven figure flipped for you? What narrative would you like to flip?

Eva Cassis

I think for me, a really big sign of success. There's a couple of things. Firstly, having freedom over your time and being there for the ones that you love. And again, just simple things like walking your kids to school and picking them up at the end of the day is a huge sign of success for me. But another really big one that I am very grateful for is to actually have a business that fully aligns with my personal values. Because I know that that's not really possible for a lot of people. So the fact that I can work in a business that's fully aligned with my values, I think there is far greater success and gratitude and being able to do that.

Laetitia Andrac

Thank you. So what is your abundant vision for your business for Eva Cassis Label ? And the slow fashion movements that you are leading?

Eva Cassis

Wow. Well, I think it's really exciting because there's people on board with this now when I first started everyone thought I was kind of crazy, but coming from the fashion industry and just saying how little value that is on people. Everyone was a number so it wasn't it wasn't specific to any group of people. It was from the people producing the garments to the people, you know, working in the company and trying to push this product to even the final customer. I always felt that that there wasn't really a lot of value placed on people in any part of that business model. And for me I did love fashion, but I really didn't align with that. And my abundant vision was to create a fashion label that actually made people feel valued. So it was not just about the final customer having a say and feeling valued and feeling that things were actually created for them to feel good in. But also filtering that through the entire business and valuing the people that are making our garments, valuing the farmers that are growing the cotton and growing the linen, people producing the fabrics. There is value in all the hands that are involved in creating a garment. And I think one of the biggest things was to really connect your customer to that process. So they can value what goes into making a garment and you know, I am the facilitator so I'm here thinking about the final customer and valuing them and their needs and all of that which is a huge disruption to how the business model actually is designed to function. But I feel like the industry is changing. There are a lot more people aware of how the business model has worked and they are keen for change. And it's it's been amazing.

Laetitia Andrac

And we feel it you know, as one of the Eva Casiss advocate. I am loving your garment I can feel it when I touch it, when I receive it or when I wear one of your garments. I feel the beautiful energy that goes with it. So it's really something that you infused in those beautiful products and the positive impact it has on everyone and the planet while making profit which is very beautiful. Thank you, Eva, anything you'd like to add for anyone who's listening to this to inspire them or to share a message around this seven figure flipped conversation.

Eva Cassis

I think what I would really say to people, you know, embarking on a business journey is just to follow your heart. Just follow your heart, follow your gut and do what is aligned with you something that I do quite regularly which I think has slowed the growth of the business, but it's something that I'm really comfortable with is I actually pause after every kind of growth period or every promotion and I always pause and just make sure that whatever we've achieved is still aligned with my values. And the vision of my lifestyle and what is really important to me. And I think that that has slowed the growth of the business but it's something that I would not change.

Laetitia Andrac

I love it making space for posing, resting, reflecting and aligning again for the next stage of growth. Thank you so much Eva for coming on today and sharing your voice I'm so grateful you said yes to this.

Eva Cassis

Thank you. Thanks for having me.

Katie Transcript:

Laetitia Andrac

Hello, Katie, thank you so much for being part of the seven figure flipped conversations.

Katie Rose

Hey, Leticia, thank you for having me.

\Laetitia Andrac

Okay, let's get into the first question. So Katie, what is your definition of success?

Katie Rose

Yes, I love this question because it invites such a broad response in terms of the answer. So for me, I think success is multifaceted. I mean, it's never ever been purely financial. Of course, there's a financial component because if we're not financially stable and comfortable, then that's going to create a lot of drain on our energy. But for me, when I think about success, the first thing I think about is the parenting journey. As many of the listeners will know, I've got five children. So I feel like I'm successful when I'm showing up for my children when I'm able to be available for them and present as a parent without being really frazzled and burnt out and distracted. So that's one element. And then another element on a more kind of personal level, just me for myself is really my headspace. You know, I feel like I'm succeeding. When I'm feeling grounded, steady, not overwhelmed. Like I just said, Not frazzled. When there's a sense of purpose, and the other word that comes to mind is steadiness in my visit me then I'm succeeding.

Laetitia Andrac

I love that. Thank you so much, Katie for sharing that with us. It's so inspiring. And you know, how much I'm inspired by you and your business and all the impact you have. So my second question to you is, what does seven figure flips mean to you?

Katie Rose

I love that you've come up with this concept. And you know, you and I were chatting back and forth about it a little bit yesterday, and I was saying, I'm not against seven figures, like seven figures is great. Bring it on. I'm certainly not here to say that. That's not a great thing. I'm pro spiritual entrepreneurs making money. I think it's really important that we maintain the narrative that we're allowed to be spiritual and wealthy. For me those two things can be combined. However, you have identified a very clear narrative that runs in the business space in the coaching space that gets very fixated on numbers. And inflated numbers and actually inflated claims like this kind of golden carrot that gets dangled in front of us of you know, you can have a perfect life and wealth and abundance and and it can fall out of the sky overnight and everything will be shiny and unicorns and rainbows and promising the world. And the reality is, well, first of all, let's just tap in for a moment to the spiritual reality because we're talking about spiritual entrepreneurs, and we're talking about doing business with integrity. We know that money can buy us freedom, it can buy us choices, it can buy us independence, it can't buy us happiness, and it can't buy us a robust connection to Source to our spiritual practices to our heart. So all the money in the world doesn't doesn't generate that. So for me, the primary motivation in my business and the primary intention in my work is to stay connected to the highest to stay connected to source and for that to be what I'm channeling from. And what that means is that the work is about service. So when we show up in service, if we have integrity, and we also have some business skills to which we need some strategy and some skills, then the income generation comes as a result of that. It's a natural flow on from bit of strategy, some intelligent kind of framework. In your business, but really that connection to living your dharma doing the work you're meant to be doing. So whether you are you know, making a few $100 As a side hustle, or maybe you're a stay at home mom or something like that, or you're making a few $1,000 Or you're making a few million dollars. It's really, I mean, you've nailed it by saying flipping the script because it's not about one narrative. You know, the minute we get kind of like this very driving focus on six figure month or seven figure year or whatever it might be. We're in a pigeonhole. We're in a box. And that creates pressure. And then so many people start to chase that dream in a very pressured way, and it becomes fixated and in yoga, you know, we talk about the teaching of a paragraph, which means groundlessness I don't necessarily think of that as groundlessness I think of it as not clinging, not grasping the minute we have that energy of holding, grasping, being covetous. And something around that seven figure narrative often has that energy behind it. I think we're in trouble. So I love this idea of flipping the script around that and for me, actually, what that means is show up in service first, do your best work be overgenerous, which is something you know so much about because in your work, you're always giving more I really see that in you and in in a central shift. And then the money is, you know, I'm not saying the money isn't important, but the money flows as a result of that.

Laetitia Andrac

I love it. Thank you, Katie for sharing that. And we have another question for you. What is your abundant vision for your business then?

Katie Rose

Yeah, so my you know, I'm gonna sort of patting myself on the back a little bit and say that I'm pretty close to feeling that I'm achieving that vision already. And I do see my business growing and expanding financially. So that's part of it financial expansion, but for me, it's been like I said before, it's been all about lifestyle. So being able to be around for my kids, be at home, be available, be flexible, being able to do work, that I'm really passionate about being able to choose how my business develops and grows and changes over time. You know, it's like, I'm in the driving seat of what it is. I want to create what it is I want to share that can grow organically as I grow and change the business is never static. It's always growing and flowing. And I love that. So yeah, flexibility lifestyle. Having choice. All of these things are really, really important to me in the world of my business.

Laetitia Andrac

I love it. So Katie, before we let you go, I would love for the listener to have an opportunity to know what is your business and what you do. Yeah, sure. Well,

Katie Rose

there's two parts to my business. The first part which is the main part is I run a yoga and I have an online business. I have two signature programs within that business. One is either the goddess which trains women in the teachings of iflr yogas sister science, the other is yoga of birth, which is a prenatal yoga training and then I also have a sort of sister business to bhakti rose which is the Iboga yoga business. And that is bhakti business, which is all about supporting spiritual entrepreneurs, particularly yoga teachers in expanding their business and not just and this is why I was so happy to chat with you on this subject today. Not just financially expanding but also making the world of being in business something that is inspiring and exciting and enjoyable for the for the people that are doing it rather than draining and exhausting and overwhelming.

Laetitia Andrac

I'm so grateful before I let you go Katie I'm so grateful for your work and it's such a needed work and like definitely connect with Katie because she knows so much. She's very humble. So she doesn't share that she has over 20 years of experience in that field. So she's really knowledgeable she's a as the depth and the breadth that you want from a mentor in that space. Before I let you go, Katie, do you want to add anything about the seven figure flipped scripts that I am, you know, calling out with this campaign? Anything you'd like to share?

Katie Rose

I want to say something about goal setting and again you and I spoke about this yesterday are one of the things that's been most powerful in my business and in my work is to have some goals around what I'm doing no matter what level I'm at. Now those goals don't have to be financial, you might have a goal. For example, I would like to be featured on three podcasts, or I would like to get my blog up and running and write five posts by the end of the year. You know, these are goals tangible, practical goals that you can set that you can then work towards achieving that will bring revenue into your business but aren't necessarily focused around numbers and money. And then the other thing is, if you are going to have a financial goal if you are going to have a numbers goal around money, really dropping the comparison with others, you know, I was sharing with you. As you said, I've worked in this industry for 20 years I've it's been a long time that I've been serving my communities with yoga and I better however, about five or six years ago now many many people know my story. I got divorced and my situation changed significantly my financial situation. And for a couple of years I was really struggling. I was in a quite difficult financial situation as I was rebuilding my business and my independence. And I remember so clearly when I first started my online business because I had run yoga studios bricks and mortar yoga studios, but I hadn't really worked in the online space. When I launched the online side of my business. A very clear goal I had at the beginning was to save $5,000 That was a big goal for me and it felt like it would be really challenging. Now, if I think about that now $5,000 to me in this moment in my business is not such a large amount of money, but I remember that anchor because it wasn't so long ago. And I really respect myself in the moment that that was my goal. Just as right now I respect myself in a more expanded goal. And so I really want to invite the listeners to understand it's not about the number it's not about whether you're saving for 500 or 5000 or 5 million, depending on where you're at. It's about really respecting yourself and the integrity of what you're offering and the integrity of your journey and knowing that all goals are worthy. All goals are valid, no matter where you're at with another number that people get very fixated. On is how many followers do I have? You know, how many Instagram followers do I have? How many people do I have in my database? Again, five customers that you're serving beautifully from the heart with good quality authentic work is better than 5000 Who you don't have that kind of service oriented perspective for so yeah, the numbers change. The numbers are amorphous, and they ebb and flow but what has served me and my work is to not focus on that but rather to focus on the service element and connection to Source and making sure that's coming through and what I'm doing. Hmm,

Laetitia Andrac
