A Human Design guide for beginners
Human Design is a blueprint. A self discovery tool allowing you to learn more about who you are and what you do. For beginners, Human Design might feel complex. That is why we have a guide to help you understand the core concepts of Human Design.

What is Human Design?
Human Design is based on time, location and date of birth and the idea is that it gives you your energetic blueprint and helps you understand how you are meant to make decisions, communicate, work in teams, cope in relationships, your strengths and areas of opportunity to grow.
It is basically who you came to this world to be. Sometimes this may not be who you are today, because you have been conditioned. But this is your energetic blueprint, your soul's bible. So what this shows is often how condition and how much we are in the shadow.
There are about 2 billion configurations, so it really reminds us how many differ types of people are on this planet.
It draws on many different systems from I Ching, astrology, Kabbalah, Hindu-Brahmin chakra system, and quantum physics.We like to see it as a mashup between astrology and Myers-Briggs.
Human Design offers a map, or a manual, that indicates how you are unique as a person, and guides you in living in a manner that is in sync with who you are. When reading who you are designed to be and so some of the things may not resonate with you today because you are not living in this truth.
When we live in alignment with our true nature, we begin to experience a level of comfort and acceptance for who we are, instead of chasing who we are not—and we’re able to live out our real purpose in the world.
Why you are not living in your truth is because you may have been conditioned during your life thus far.
So if you think back to when you were born into this world, you were pure and then everything that happened post that, puts you into an environment where you are conditioned or learned a behaviour
What are the 5 different types of energy in Human Design
The 5 different types are often what most people learn when they first enter the world of Human Design. Here is a breakdown of each type.
Manifestors
Manifestors are about 8% of the population and are the only energy type designed to initiate. Meaning, you are not here to wait for a sign, or to wait for an opportunity, invitation, permission or anything else.
Your energy is here to take action and honour its creative bursts to act, create and do! However, you don’t have access to infinite energy - you have a million gifts to offer the world but being a workhorse isn’t one of them. You being in your own manifestor power catalyses action in others, and that is how you gracefully charge through life with huge success and adoration - you inspire people to follow, join and support you, simply by being you.
Your job is not to do all the doing, but rather, to start movements, ideas, businesses and projects, which will then attract your support crew to you to carry out the doing, so you can keep creating!
Your superpower is MANIFESTING; that is, making it happen. You don't need to wait for anyone or anything to give you the go-ahead!
Your strategy is to inform before they act to find peace and avoid anger. They have a closed and repelling aura, and are here to understand their impact on others. Your closed and repelling aura can make others feel off balance and want to control the Manifestor.
When a Manifestor shares with others, this naturally relaxes those around them and removes energetic resistance, allowing them to initiate in peace. When they are moving through life without informing others, Manifestors can end up feeling angry as a result of the resistance they experience.

Generators
Generators are the dominant type on the planet with nearly 37% of the population. They are the driving life force of the world, the builders, and the labour for most major projects that are initiated. Their strategy is to respond, and through response to find satisfaction and avoid frustration.
You are first and foremost people of activity. You are naturally full of vigour, and need an outlet for your powerful inner drive. You tackle projects with intentness and determination, gaining momentum as they make progress.
Finding activities that you have a natural enthusiasm for helps your energy to grow and be expressed. As Generators find and connect to their passions, their dedication will lead to mastery, and mastery will lead to success and satisfaction. Their life’s work tends to be in refining what projects best fuel their energy.
When the Generator is lit up by the things they're applying their energy to, they emit the signal of pure lifeforce which other energy types then pick up on, and are immediately attracted. to. It fills up the people around them which makes them magnetic as well as being extremely engaging and joyful. And that's why it is not surprising that Generators have an attractive or magnetic aura.
Which means that they do not, contrary to popular belief, have to "go out and make it happen". But rather, they will be living in such joy and fulfilment, that they will quite literally pull life to them.
Generators strategy is to respond, this could be to your sacral centre aka your gut instinct guiding you towards what you desire or it could be responding to a question or even a gap you have identified.

Manifesting Generators
Approximately 33% of the population are Manifesting Generators (MGs), which are a combination of Generators and Manifestors.
They have to balance characteristics of both Types. They process the anger of the Manifestor and inform others at key moments. They also must process the frustration of the Generator and wait for the right timing to act on things.
Like Generators, MGs must do what lights them up, but unlike Generators, this is rarely just one thing. MGs are not the people who chose a career, stay with one company until they retire & get the corner office. MGs are multi-passionate, active multi-taskers.
They have endless energy for what interests them and they are extremely fast learners. They are here to take in information, try things on and articulate (using their unique voice with that active and engaged throat centre) what they have discovered.
If you are a Manifesting Generator, you are here to teach the rest of us that you do not need to stick at one thing just because you began it. That goes for studying something at uni and having to continue that career path forever or beginning a hobby having to stick with it. You are our permission slip to change our minds.
Manifesting Generator strategy is the same as a Generators, to respond. This could be to your sacral centre aka your gut instinct guiding you towards what you desire or it could be responding to a question or even a gap you have identified.

Projectors
Projectors are around 21% of the population and are the Guides of society, and part of your journey is understanding how to best harness the auric energy of those who are energy types (like Generators and Manifestors) to increase your productivity.
Being a guide doesn’t mean that you have to position yourself as a leader or a guide, but more accurately, you’ll be invited into positions of guidance by those around you that are drawn into your aura, simply by being yourself in accordance with your design.
As a Projector, you have a focused, probing aura and are able to engage with people on a complex, deep energetic level. You have the capacity to “see into the other” with great depth and ease, often knowing others on a deeply intimate level. Projectors are naturally sensitive to and aware of the energy of other people; they can recognize the natural gifts and capabilities of others. They have unique insights into the way life works and through their sensitivity and awareness, they develop natural wisdom. When others recognize and value what Projectors have to offer, they can become powerful guides.
Their strategy is to wait for the invitation to find success and avoid bitterness. They have a focused and absorbing aura, and need to learn about and understand others.
Their openness leaves them vulnerable to conditioning. If Projectors are focusing on the wrong people and have not been really recognized, this can lead to exhaustion and bitterness. Projectors need to learn to be very discerning about engaging their energy. They are natural at mastering systems, and when they use their energy correctly, will experience success in their life and relationships.
And remember as a projector you are built to work in short bursts, and not designed with stamina in mind. Take breaks, lots of rest and allow your need to get things done be driven by a burst of energy.

Reflectors
Reflectors are without definition and are just 1% percent of the population and are here in service to the tribal energy - you are the wise person that everyone else consults. The reflector is not wise by its own definition, but wise because everyone else can see themselves clearly in the reflector.
You are designed to be unlabeled - to be free to float around and be misty. Reflectors thrive on the theme of "I’m everything and nothing, and I can be who I want, when I want”.
Reflectors are designed to allow life to make love to them - to be surprised and delighted by life. But, that can’t happen if you’re constantly trying to label and box yourself in, as society would prefer.
Their strategy is to wait a full cycle of the moon before making decisions to find clarity, leading to a life of more surprise and less disappointment. They have a resistant and sampling aura, and are learning to reflect rather than identify.
A Reflector’s presence is a mirror for others. In groups, people’s sense of themselves and the group is mirrored through the Reflector.
Most people have a balance of open and Defined Centres, creating a polarity within them. Reflectors have only open Centres, creating a very different experience. They have the ability to take on and become many different things. They can mould to their environment and embody what is taking place. Their experience and embodiment of a group dynamic, or the theme of an environment, gives other people a sense for it as a whole as well.
Because of Reflectors’ lack of definition, they have the potential to be objective and remain outside of things in a way others cannot. Inside situations, they embody its characteristics and allow others to see things from outside themselves as well.
As people get a larger sense for the group or situation, they develop a better sense for how each individual is participating and contributing. Reflectors can see the progression over time as a group matures and develops, giving people feedback, and seeing what impact they have at different times.
How Human Design helped me in my business and how I use it with my clients
I discovered Human Design around four years ago. I found it when I wanted to learn more about my daughters.I am always exploring and willing to learn more (as my Human Design says - Generator) so I dived deeper to learn how I can use it more in my life and business.
I do things when I am very very energised and not much when I am not (I rest). My Human Design has almost given me a permission slip to work in my business the way it works for me. Not in the ways others say. How I felt called to. I honoured my own energy type as a Generator.
With the business it has helped me attract clients who are Manifesting Generators or Projectors as they need more Generator energy to help them. I can share my energy type with those clients. This helps me serve them in a unique way.
I’ve also offer readings as part of my Intensive Session and give my clients strategies to work based on their Human Design type. It helps them in business. It is about incorporating all these blueprints to learn more about yourself. These are self-awareness tools!
